Programs & Services Offered
Feed My People, since its beginning in 1982, has shown compassion to all God’s people, particularly His people in need. From the humble beginning with just a bag of groceries, the Help Center continues to provide both food and hope to the people that walk through our doors in need of help.
Food is the primary concern with statistics showing that 1 in 9 children go to bed hungry each night. Feed My People also offers Emergency Food Assistance when requested.
Food Pantry
Feed My People serves clients whose incomes are at or below the poverty level, most of whom receive SNAP benefits. At each twice-monthly visit, every member of a client’s household receives enough food for three meals a day for three days. Personal care items and household cleaning supplies are also available upon request.
Our pantries now operate on a “client choice” model. Much like shopping in a grocery store, clients select the foods they and their families actually want to eat. This approach reduces waste and gives those we serve greater dignity.
Transformation Program
The Transformation Program goes beyond food to help clients stabilize their daily lives through holistic, one-on-one support. Eligible clients receive utility and rental assistance, as well as help with transportation, employment, and housing. Shopping vouchers for our thrift stores help them find appropriate attire for a new job or interview, warm clothing for the winter, and other everyday essentials. Newly added services include diabetes and health screenings, health education, referrals, and senior socialization.
